We are pleased to welcome, not one, but two litters of puppies which were born during the local lockdown and are helping to bring joy and happiness to our staff and volunteers who have been working extremely hard behind closed doors.

Both mums and puppies are doing extremely well with one litter being the biggest in our history, 16 puppies! This is a large litter for any mother to have, she has been an amazing mum and very attentive.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross puppies are 4 and 3 weeks old and will be looking for loving homes in the coming weeks. Both parents came into our care at the end of August and it was soon apparent that they might be carrying puppies!

In the meantime we need your help giving them names! We have two themes for you to choose from Disney characters and famous actors…we look forward to seeing your names!

Centre Manager, Karen Doy said “These puppies were a lovely surprise. With demand for dogs increasing during the pandemic our team have found it extremely hard to ensure our dogs were going to the right homes where we knew they were getting a life-long committed family who will love them like we do. Our procedures had to change in line with government guidelines to help keep everyone safe and we also introduced a questionnaire to ensure we could match the right dogs to fit people’s lifestyles.”

“We are so lucky to work with such beautiful dogs and having two litters born here has helped even more to keep our team smiling and realising that homeless dogs have somewhere to go to find help and a safe environment to bring up their young."

They will keep you smiling during this second lockdown!

To adopt one of these puppies please fill out the form below and return to the email address at the bottom. There is a huge demand for puppies and our team will be unable to acknowledge every application. If you are successful our team will be in contact to discuss your application further. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
