Birmingham Dogs Home attended the 20th annual Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon events on Sunday September 3rd 2017.

We were so proud to be a part of this wonderful event and would like to thank the marathon Committee for choosing us as one of their chosen Charities.

Birmingham Dogs Home were there on the day, on the finish line, with the fundraising trailer, raising funds and awareness for our homeless dogs whilst cheering participants over the finish line. We also had 25 marshalls guiding the way along the event routes whilst encouraging the participants on their journey.

In total, since 1998 the Marathon Events have raised in excess of £350,000 to help local charities!

On December 4th 2017, representatives of Birmingham Dogs Home (Karen Doy – Sunnyside Centre Manager, Jilly Rivers – Fundraising Co-ordinator, Rachel Frost – Community Fundraiser) attended the cheque presentation ceremony in which we were awarded a very generous £5,000 cheque.

Mary Harding – Marathon Secretary, Henry Carver - managing director of main sponsor Carvers Building Supplies, and the Deputy Lord Mayor and Mayoress of Wolverhampton were delighted to hand the cheques out to Birmingham Dogs Home, Compton Hospice, Samaritans Wolverhampton and the Mayoral Charity Fund.

Thank you to everyone that took part in the Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon events and helped make the day as special as it was, and to everyone that worked so hard in making the day a successful one.
